21/03/2020

Dear guests, friends, and supporters,   This is an unprecedented time for us all, our customers, our wedding couples and the nation, as we try to understand and get to grips with this rapidly evolving pandemic. It is affecting us all in ways we never thought imaginable. We are in uncharted waters dealing with a situation that no previous experience can guide us. Life will change, times will be tough, and we will need to be healthy. We have ridden many a storm in the 32 years of being in business – two recessions, foot and mouth outbreak, the Gulf wars, Brexit, snow, floods. Nothing comes close to this. The tsunami-like speed of events has been alarming. Never in all those times have we ever closed for business – until now. We had hoped to continue until after Mother’s day service, even though this has been ravaged with cancellations. However, in response to the guidance given, by the PM last night, urging the public; “Stay out of bars and restaurants, gyms and cancel all non-essential travel”. Essentially this is as good as telling us to shut down, so The Manor will close from Saturday morning 21 March 2020. How long will we be closed? Hopefully not too long, and the measures taken will have a positive effect on halting the pandemic

It has been a particularly difficult time for our impending wedding couples – we understand your worries and stress but promise We will NOT cancel any pre-booked wedding

This past week Necolle and Charlotte have worked around the clock to contact every bride getting married between April-June to offer them the best available postponement date should our doors not re-open in time for their wedding. We truly appreciate that you never dreamed you would ever be in this situation. Should you have not been already contacted, rest assured throughout this period, we will be monitoring the emails info@manorhotel.co.uk or weddings@manorhotel.co.uk

We ask all couples, their family and their friends, respectfully, to please show patience and consideration as they support you in adjusting your plans in response to this disruption. To these couples, we thank you for being so incredible and understanding. We promised the wedding of your dreams, and that is what you shall have. Hotels and suppliers are also going through high levels of stress as they try to minimise the impact this will have on their businesses, their clients, workforce and their livelihoods.

We will be updating our website and sending information via social media as and when we have it. If you are subscribed to our mailing list we shall also be sending out messages via email.

Thank you for taking time to read this message, be safe, protect your loved ones and once we have got through this dreadful situation I have a feeling the spirit of human kindness and resolve will be more stronger than before. We look forward to welcoming you at our hotels very soon!
